Privacy Policy.
Last updated: August 2026. This explains what personal data The Saltwater Creative collects when you use this site, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
The Saltwater Creative is a trading name of The Saltwater Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17417170), registered office 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. For the purposes of data protection law, The Saltwater Group Ltd is the "data controller" of the personal data described in this policy.
What we collect
When you use the contact form on this site, we collect the information you choose to give us: your name, email address, what kind of project you're enquiring about, and any message or project details you include.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, such as which pages are viewed and roughly how visitors found us. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this, and the data it collects is shared with Google, who process it under their own privacy policy.
These cookies are not set until you accept them. When you first visit, you'll see a banner giving you the choice to accept or reject analytics cookies. If you reject them, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google Analytics. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.
We don't use any other cookies or tracking technologies, such as advertising or retargeting pixels, on this site.
Why we collect it
We use enquiry details solely to respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible project with you. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone. Analytics data helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it; it isn't used to identify you personally.
Our legal basis
We process enquiry data on the basis of legitimate interests, specifically, our interest in responding to enquiries from people who have chosen to contact us. Where a project goes ahead, we may also process further data under a legal basis of contract, in order to deliver the work. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent, given through the cookie banner.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as reasonably needed to respond and follow up, typically no longer than 24 months from your last contact with us, unless a project goes ahead, in which case we keep relevant records for as long as needed for that project and our legal and accounting obligations. Google Analytics retains data according to Google's own retention settings, which you can read about in Google's privacy policy.
Who we share it with
We use Google Workspace to handle our email, so enquiry details sent by email pass through Google's systems as a data processor on our behalf. If you accept analytics cookies, your browsing data on this site is also shared with Google Analytics. We don't share your information with any other third party unless required by law.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it's wrong, to ask us to delete it, and to object to how we're using it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@thesaltwatercreative.co.uk.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
